What is a PFMS Scholarship?

 

An initiative of the Central Government, The Public Finance Management System
(PFMS) Scholarship is to provide financial funds to the deserving and
meritorious students. PFMS Scholarship Scheme, many incentives are
provided also to the students who belong to different backward categories that are SC,
ST, OBC. Including also the people who belong to economically backward society. Altogether Each year
More than 82000 students benefit from this scholarship in various fields.

PFMS Scholarship Program List:

 

There are different scholarships under the PFMS Scholarship scheme, which includes:

1. PFMS Scholarship for College/ University Students.
2. PFMS Post-matric Scholarship for SC/ ST Students.
3. The PFMS Pre-matric Scholarship for SC Students.
4. PFMS National Means cum Merit Scholarship.
5. PFMS National Incentive Scheme for Girl Child.
6. The PFMS Post-matric Scholarship for OBC Students.
7. PFMS Merit Upgradation Scheme of SC Students.
8. PFMS Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students.

What is the Eligibility Criteria to apply for PFMS Scholarship?

 

Different schemes under the PFMS Scholarship have a set of its own eligibility
requirements. The eligibility requirements for all the scholarships are listed below.

1) PFMS for College/ University Students:

  1.  The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
  2.  The candidate should have passed the Class 12 examination.
  3.  Students should be the top scorers (among the top 20%) in the field of
    education.
  4.  Candidates should be between 18-25 years of age.
  5.  The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 6,00,000.

2) PFMS Post-matric Scholarship for SC/ ST Students:

  1.  The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
  2.  The candidate should have passed the Class 10 examination.
  3.  All SC students of class 12th are eligible for the professional courses, diplomas,
    Graduate Degree, M. Phil., Ph.D., Postdoctoral programs.
  4.  Candidate’s parental income should be below than 2.5 lakhs annually.

3) PFMS National Means cum Merit Scholarship:

  1.  The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
  2.  The candidate should have passed the Class 8th or 9th passed with 55% for
    general and 50% from Govt/Govt Aided Schools.
  3.  Applicant does not take up a part-time/full-time job.
  4.  The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 6,00,000.

4) PFMS National Incentive Scheme for Girl Child:

  1.  The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
  2.  Candidates should have passed the Class 8th examination from Govt/Govt
    Aided Schools.
  3.  The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 6,00,000.

5) PFMS Post-matric Scholarship for OBC Students:

  1.  Candidate should be an Indian citizen.
  2.  The candidate should have passed the Class 10 examination.
  3.  The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 1,00,000.

6) PFMS Merit Upgradation Scheme of SC Students:

  1.  The Applicant should be an Indian citizen.
  2.  The SC/ST students studying in class 9th to 12th.
  3.  Annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 6,00,000.

7) PFMS Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students:

  1.  Applicant should be an Indian citizen.
  2.  The SC/ST students studying in Engineering, Medicine/Dentistry, Law,
    Management, and other Specialized Streams.
  3.  Annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 6,00,000.

Know about Rewards and Benefits of PFMS Scholarship 2022 :

 

Different schemes under the PFMS scholarship offer variable financial assistance to the
selected candidates. Here are the scholarship benefits for the different schemes
explained in detail below.

1) PFMS for College/ University Students:

  1.  Graduate-level students receive INR 1000 for the first 3 years of college and
    university courses.
  2.  Post Graduation level candidates receive INR 2000 per month for the first 3
    years of college and university courses.
  3.  Students pursuing professional degrees receive INR 2000 per month in the 4th
    and 5th years.
  4.  All scholarships are paid only for 10 months in a year.

2) PFMS Post-matric Scholarship for SC/ ST Students:

  1.  Maintenance allowance.
  2.  Reimbursement of non-refundable fees.
  3. Moreover Study tour charges.
  4.  Thesis printing charges for research scholars.
  5. Along with a Book allowance for students pursuing correspondence courses.
  6. Besides Book bank facility for specified courses.
  7.  Additional allowance for disabled students for the entire duration of the course.

3) PFMS Pre-matric Scholarship for SC Students:

  1.  INR 150 per month for day scholars and INR 350 for hostelers.
  2.  INR 750 per annum for day scholars and INR 1000 for hostelers.

4) PFMS National Means cum Merit Scholarship:

  1.  The scholarship amount of INR 6000 per annum is given in quarterly installments of
    INR 1500 each for a duration of 4 years.

5) PFMS National Incentive Scheme for Girl Child:

  1.  The scholarship amount of INR 3000 per annum.

6) PFMS Post-matric Scholarship for OBC Students:

  1.  Variable financial pay.

7) PFMS Merit Upgradation Scheme of SC Students:

  1.  Package of INR 25,000 thousand per student per year.
  2.  INR 15,000 per student per year as under- Boarding & Lodging charges @ Rs.
    900 pm for 10 months, Pocket Money @ Rs. 300 for 10 months, Books and
    Stationery Rs. 3,000
  3. Besides INR 10,000 per annum as an honorarium to Principal, Experts, and other
    incidental charges.

8) PFMS Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students:

  1.  Full tuition fee and other non-refundable charges (there will be a ceiling of Rs.
    2.00 lakh per annum per student towards fee in the private institutions and
    Rs.3.72 lakh per annum per student in private commercial pilot training
    institutions).
  2.  Living expenses @ of Rs.2220 per month per student.
  3. Besides Books and stationery @ Rs.3000 per annum per student and
  4.  The latest computer with full accessories limited to Rs. 45000 per student as
    one-time assistance. Living expenses, costs of books and stationery and
    computer are subject to actual.
